UPDATE On “The Choice” by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Last month on February 8th I wrote a review for the book The Choice by Suzanne Woods Fisher. If you have read my review you would know that I loved this book and I have just received news that it is #8 on the CBA March Fiction bestseller list and has held it’s position on the ECPA  fiction bestseller list for February and March, woohoo! This is a must read, I promise you that you will not be disappointed.

It has also come to my attention that beginning March  11th, 4-5 CST, Suzanne will be hosting a weekly radio program titled Amish Wisdom and here is a list of the upcoming programs:
  • March 11: Erik Wesner, author and blogger of Amish America
  • March 18: Glenda Lehman Ervin of Lehman's Hardware Store in Ohio—a unique place that supplies non-electric appliances to the Amish
  • March 25: Dr. John Dooley, Vice President for Outreach and International Affairs for Virginia Tech, talks about the "Comfort Quilt"
  • April 1: Bill Coleman, renowned photographer of the Amish
  • April 8: Quilter Pat Sloan on Amish Quilts
  • April 15: Dr. Joe Wittmer, author and scholar who was raised Old Order Amish
  • April 22: Jon Kroll, producer of the 2004 reality TV show Amish in the City
  • April 29: Hillary Manton Lodge, author of Plain Jayne (Harvest House)
I am really excited to tune in and listen to what these authors, doctors, writers and artists have to say. Won’t you join us for some interesting and wonderful talks!

Busy Mom’s Bible

I received a free copy of The Busy Mom’s Bible  (NIV) to review from Zondervan Bibles about two weeks ago. It is constructed very well and the two tone pink leather like cover is very feminine and attractive. It is small enough to put in your purse or a tote bag and take it with you anywhere. I always carry a Bible in my purse so that I can read it while I’m waiting for an appointment, or if I am delayed for any reason.

If you don’t have time for a full devotion, that’s no problem because this Bible is designed for a one minute, a five minute or a ten minute devotion. Not only that, The Busy Mom’s Bible  was designed to have devotional inserts by devotional need such as A Woman of Character, Overcoming Obstacles, Healthy Living, Your Emotions, Your Relationships, and Family Ties to name just a few. I have truly enjoyed reading this Bible for my devotions because the design and layout is to make our lives as women easier to have a daily devotion.
I am disappointed that Zondervan Bibles do not offer The Busy Mom's Bible in the KJV or NKJV. I do hope they will consider these versions as I am a KJV gal. However, I highly recommend The Busy Mom's Bible.

I was given the product for free in order to write my honest opinion about the product for the review.

Curriculum Review From The Whole Word Publishers

I received a copy of The book of Obabiah with Geometric Designs and Three Fonts in exchange to write a review giving my honest opinion of the curriculum.
TheBookofObadiah
My son used this copy work book for two reasons, first, for verse memorization and second, for improving his hand righting skills. The book has three different font styles for each verse which makes it nice for writing the verse each day. He wasn’t as bored with writing each day. By writing a verse each day, it really helped with his memorization of the verse.
I also like the fact that kindergartners can use these copy books also. I use myself for verse memorization, by writing it down throughout the week really helps with my retai of the verse.
I highly recommend these copy books to everyone. You can see more of these wonderful books by visiting The Whole Word Publishing or at Currclick dot com. Currclick dot com has thousands of titles and subjects for every learning level. These downloadable copywork books that are extremely inexpensive that truly teach in a way that makes it fun to learn.

Fresh Air All Year Long

During the long winter days and nights with the windows and doors shut morning, noon and night, lets face it, our homes begin to become stale smelling. If not being cooped up isn't enough to make a person go mad, the stale stifling smell will! Sure, you can open the windows for a few hours but come the end of the month, your electric bill has jumped to an astronomical amount and the fresh air smell in the house is quickly replaced with that ever so familiar smell of wet dog and left over fish again.
